Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman continues to float the notion that he might throw his crown into the race for governor next year….either as an independent or in the Democrat primary against the Son of Reid. And many folks continue to pooh-pooh his chances, maintaining Oscar just won’t “sell” in the rurals.
An extremely likable fellow with a buxom babe on one arm and a martini glass at the end of the other won’t sell in Tonopah? Or Elko? Or Ely? Or Winnemucca? Don’t bet on it.

Jim Gibbons intends to appoint his former chief operating officer, Dianne Cornwall, to the Nevada Gaming Commission when a seat becomes vacant in April,” CityLife editor Steve Sebelius wrote on Friday, adding that “sources who asked to remain anonymous say the appointment has been under consideration for some time, and that it is a common topic of discussion within the governor’s staff.” Continue reading »
