Apparently you subscribe to the belief that as long as an elected official is a Republican they should be above criticism no matter what they do or how badly they do it. That’s how Republicans ended up with George W. Bush and the 8-year GOP spending orgy that came with it.

Called my shot on Facebook…Angle by 5 percent. Sharron still needs to not make any major mistakes, but a statistical tie at this point should have Harry Reid getting his resume ready to post on monster.com in November.

You know Chuck, maybe her poll numbers would be even better if fickle conservatives such as yourself pulled your heads out of your rear ends and got with the program. In the last election you supported Bill Raggio (RINO) over Angle. This time around, as soon as Sharron won the nomination you opened up with your diatribes about how badly she was doing. Well, she is in a tie with the most powerful Democrat in the Senate. Not bad for an “extremist.”

Chelene Nightingale for governor CA cp party has ran into a huge bump in the road. Seems Nightingale forget to mentioned that she filed for recent bankruptcy before entering the race, also she did not mention her associations with accused murderers, “mountain minutemen” that she has tried to conceal. These two huge items, put her postion in jeopardy. The cp recently confided that “they wish they would have vetted this woman, more throughly” She is polling at less than 1%….seems the pain will be over soon.

Chuck, I agree with you that low taxes is the best way to attract new businesses to Nevada. I have to admit though that I thought the exact same thing as Andrew. “Of course they didn’t – they wouldn’t have located here if those were significant issues for them.”

The point is better made by finding out why businesses that didn’t move here made that decision. Did they go to a state with even lower taxes? Were the taxes equal and the schools, museums, etc were better? These are the answers we need and then we need to make efforts to fix the things that businesses find objectionable. Taxes, energy costs, transportation, regulations…. or whatever it is. we need those answers.

Here’s the bottom line: The Legislature doubled the jobs tax in June 2009. Has unemployment gone up or gone down since that time?

Case….closed.

Of course they didn’t – they wouldn’t have located here if those were significant issues for them.

Show a survey of the many, many companies that were recruited but decided NOT to locate here, where they said something like “we thought the schools, parks and arts were fine, we just hated the tax structure” and then you’ll have made your point. Or you’re “oh my gosh what were they thinking they raised taxes in the middle of a recession” argument goes out the window. You actually made the Dems point, Chuck – you obviously agree that the tax increases that were put in place were not a significant deterrent due to the ongoing over all favorable tax climate.
