Good Bills, AWOL Republicans

AJR 2 would require a 2/3 super-majority vote of the people to pass tax hike ballot initiatives, the same requirement to pass tax hikes through the Legislature.

Naturally, no Democrats have signed on to co-sponsor the bill. Sadly, though, five Assembly Republicans have thus far also declined to co-sponsor this taxpayer-protection measure, including Assembly Minority Leader Heidi Gansert, John Carpenter, Melissa Woodbury, Dick McArthur and, of course, Joe Hardy.

AJR 4 would provide education tax credits to parents to send their children to the school of their choice.

Naturally, no Democrats have signed on to co-sponsor the bill. Sadly, though, six Assembly Republicans have thus far also declined to co-sponsor this parental-choice measure, including Assembly Minority Leader Heidi Gansert, John Carpenter, Dick McArthur, Melissa Woodbury, Chad Christensen and, of course, Joe Hardy.

AB 300 repeals Nevada’s motorcycle helmet law for adults who are 21 years of age or older, have possessed a valid motorcycle license for at least one year and have completed an approved motorcycle safety course.

The bill has attracted three Democrat co-sponsors in the Assembly, but sadly, six Assembly Republicans have thus far declined to co-sponsor this pro-freedom measure, including Assembly Minority Leader Heidi Gansert, Assistant Minority Leader Lynn Stewart, Chad Christensen, Melissa Woodbury, Tom Grady, and, of course, Joe Hardy.

Would somebody please explain to me why tax-happy, government-knows-best Joe Hardy is a Republican?
