Lippold in for Special Election

Retired Naval Commander Kirk Lippold released the following statement concerning a possible special election for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District following the announcement that Senator John Ensign will resign and the possibility that Congressman Dean Heller will be appointed to fill Ensign’s seat:

“I remain committed to running for the 2nd Congressional District regardless of election scenarios. I entered this race because too many Nevadans are struggling with unemployment, foreclosure and a lack of faith in their elected leaders. Now is not the time to settle for the status quo. With three wars, staggering debt, and a struggling economy, my determination to bring a new level of conservative leadership, vision and integrity to Congress on behalf of the people of Nevada is stronger than ever.”
